...to start.

Where to start?

The question many people have when they gaze into their closet and try to decide what to wear.
Where do you start....?
What to wear....?
Is you closet an engulfing phenomenal mess?
Can you actually hear the closet barking at you...?

That's a loaded and complex question for some. I have come to realize the facility I have and always have had in making pieces work together or knowing what works for me, and this easiness doesn't necessarily reside within everyone.

I have helped and encouraged a few friends and individuals who simply don't know how to get dressed. Well ok, they technically know how to get the shirt, pants and socks on, but it really is an ordeal and often they don't yield the best results.
I would say that there are a few factors that make getting dressed easier. It's not all about buying the newest trend or designer labels or having a huge selection or even sticking to the 'just all black concept'. Today's stores are packed with a lot of stuff, there is so much today that it is extremely easy to get drowned in discouragement or overspend on a whim and accumulate items that never get worn. But, key to it all, even before you go shopping is to be organized before the fact. Here are a few things you should consider and analyze which will help to break down the whole process. It really is methodological.
  • A clean closet. Can't find anything doesn't help.
  • Good functional hangers. So pretty when they are all well hung up.
  • Get boxes. Stuff that doesn't belong on a hanger needs a home.
  • Edit. It's hard, painful sometimes, but less quality wearable stuff is better than lots of the non.
  • Know what looks good on you. This concept applies to everybody, no matter what shape.
  • Online help. There are tons of info sites ready to show you the "how to".

I will be here to give you inspirational info bits, hints, images and fun and neat links to help guide you through your closet dilemmas which will enable you to dress with ease because of a clean, approachable and functional closet. And, therefore, will enable you to to get dressed more coherently and more to your liking!
